I believe and it is time to seek The Lord. Faith is believing God’s Word in the face of one’s circumstances; yet not ignoring the circumstances or pretending a problem doesn’t exist. Genesis 8:1-12, an example of not ignoring the circumstances and realizing the problem. Noah believed that God was drying the land, so he sent out a raven to see if there was dry land. Then a dove he sent out three different times but still waited until God told him to leave the ark.
He prayed, looked for God to move, then waited for God to speak. Noah didn’t pretend that there was nothing wrong. He knew he could not go out of the ark until there was ground for the animals to walk on. I never thought about it before, but God was giving Noah hope as he patiently waited by letting the dove come back and bringing him an olive leaf.
WAIT FOR GOD
Romans 8:25, But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Lord, what am I waiting for? We need to know the answer to that question. I have waited for many things, but sometimes it was not with patience. I need to remind myself of Abraham and Sarah, especially if it is something that seems impossible. Genesis 15:1-17:22, Abraham did not deny his or Sarah’s natural condition, but rather believed God’s ability to change circumstances by calling those things that did not exist as though they did. But we should not hope like Sarah did; for she took matters into her own hands. That can be a disaster. But God is faithful and will keep His word. Micah 7:7, Therefore I will look unto The Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: My God will hear me.
Sometimes we have to wait, but we need to know what we are waiting for and why we believe we can have it. 2Timothy 1:12b, says, nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. First you need to know in Whom you believe. Faith is not in knowing what I believe but in Whom I believe. Faith is knowing JESUS! And knowing Jesus is knowing His WORD. To believe is to express reliance upon and a personal trust that will produce obedience. Real faith does not deny the obstacle, but declares that God is greater than the obstacle.
SPEAK YOUR FAITH
Mark 5:23, Faith does not deny that a sickness is in the body, but declares Jesus’ ability to heal the body. Matthew 17:24-27, Faith does not deny financial need, but acknowledges Jesus’ ability to meet our needs. What is your problem? I am sick, I need a job, I need peace, my family needs salvation… What is the greater “Word” on the subject? Present your problem to God. Declare His truth and promise on the subject.
SEEK THE LORD
Hosea 10:12, Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for IT IS TIME TO SEEK THE LORD! God has placed in us a desire to seek Him. He gave His son Jesus to show His love to us. It is our responsibility to follow Jesus. Isaiah 55:6, Seek The Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Hebrews 3:13, Paul also says to encourage one another daily so that unbelief does not come in and separate us from God. Isaiah 55:8-11, says My thoughts are not your thoughts. God’s Word produces fruit. God supplies seed (Word) to the sower. II Corinthians 9:10 says, The Word you’ve sown God will multiply and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
GOD ACTS FOR ME AND I WAIT FOR HIM
Isaiah 64:4, For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one (me) who waits for Him. (God acts for me and I am waiting for Him.) God’s judgement is replaced with salvation. Isaiah 55:13, IT IS TIME TO SEEK THE LORD! We seek the lawyers, doctors, educators, and investors to just name a few, but we should talk to God first so you can believe for the Myrtle tree instead of the briar. I Peter 3:15, But sanctify The Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
