Habakkuk, a man filled with a deep sense of justice. The book of Habakkuk is one man’s experience of going from doubt to worship. We read in Habakkuk 1:2-3 OH Lord, how long shall I cry and you will not hear? Even cry out to You, ““Violence!” and You will not save? Why do You show me iniquity? And cause me to see trouble? He reminds me of my sister Chris. Both cannot ignore the unrighteousness around them, so they take it to God. He had questions like we should also. Habakkuk believed in God and he believed that God had an answer to his questions. Therefore, his questions showed the presence of faith, not the lack of it. “Why?” has no meaning for an atheist. So, for a believer the question “why?” finds the answer in God. Then we can go from doubt to worship.
How Do We Go From Doubt To Worship
In Habakkuk 1:5, God tells Habakkuk that He will do the work. A work that he would not believe even if God told him. How do you go from doubt to worship? First you have to hear from God. Alan’s first message to our Church was to hear from God, and to speak what God speaks to you. By doing so, this gives God the opportunity to bring it to pass. There are 5 keys to hearing from God that we find in Habakkuk 2:1-4,
1. Meet with The Lord regularly in a special place of prayer, “I will stand my watch.”
2. Look for God to speak to you in dreams and visions: I will “watch and see.”
3. Listen for The Word of The Lord: “He will say to me,”
4. Keep a journal of things that God says: “Write the vision.”
5. Wait for God to bring it to past, “It will surely come.”
God speaks to Habakkuk again in chapter 3. He is afraid, and his body trembled, and his lips quivered at the sound of God’s voice. Then in verse 18 and 19 he says, “Yet I will rejoice in The Lord; I will joy in The God of my Salvation. The Lord God is my strength. He worships God. Here we find that “Praise” wins the battle!
The Just Shall Live By Faith
Paul takes the statement of Habakkuk 2:4 and makes it the heart of The Gospel. Romans 1:17 For in it The Righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Therefore, it’s okay to acknowledge you have a problem; and, how hard your problem is. Along as you keep your focus on God, things can change. For God is the same. Rejoice in The Lord! Trust in God!
Rise Above Circumstances
We have to admit there is a problem. Throughout The Bible we have read of men who cried out for, “God to save, deliver, and heal” Everyone else was going about their everyday business. But, God always has a man or woman that sees a need and cries out for help! You can be that person who does not ignore the injustices and the needs around you. Cry out to God, and hear His answer, then stand and watch. Write down your answer from God and speak what God has given you to speak. Praise God for His magnificence! See God Save, Deliver, and Heal again! And He (God) shall bring it to pass.
GOD IS ENOUGH!
Don’t deny your problem. Don’t treat it lightly. Find your GOD sufficient. HE is enough! I believe it is time to seek The Lord and hear His answer! In conclusion, God is and always will be enough. We just need to stand on our watch, look and listen for The Word of The Lord. Above all write down what God says, so you do not forget. After that praise God for His marvelous works and you will go from doubt to worship!
